Description:
No. of Pages=184 This novel deals with the life of a very bright Pakistani immigrant to US. This immigrant goes to school in Princeton and soon after graduation he is hired by a big consulting company. He makes good money, leads a good life. He falls in love with a rich American beauty and he finds his way into high status society in New York, similar to his family status in Pakistan. He has everything going for him. Then comes 9/11 and goes through fundamental transformation in his thinking. He loses his job, even his relationship with his rich American girlfriend changes. He looks as a Muslim rather than an immigrant trying to make his American dream. His thinking shifts from money, high society to more towards, like a Muslim fundamentalist. When I selected this book to read I expected to read into the mind of a music fundamentalist. But I did not find all that in this book. I kept reading this book to find what I thought I will find, but nothing there.
