Description:
No. of Pages=875 Soon after I finished reading Papillion, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I was craving for a similar book. Then two things happened. In the end of the book, they recommended the count of Monte Cristo and my friend Arun said, he has the unabridged edition of the book. He graciously loaned me the book and I have just finished it in under a month’s time. ,
This book is a classic, being a new reader; I am a bit late in enjoying this epic. This is a story of a nice person, who is accused to be a Bonapartist and taken away by the police on his wedding day. He is imprisoned and later dumped in a dungeon part of the prison in solitary confinement. This is where he makes friends with genius prisoner, who is thought to be mad by the prison official. They plan an n escape. This is about one third of the book. The rest of the book deals with the prisoner..(Count of Monte Cristo) carefully planning and executing the revenge.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book although it is 875 pages thin and that too in small print. I give this book 5 stars.
