Description:
No. of Pages 216 This is an interesting book loaned to me by Pratima and Sudhir Tyagi. My friends essentially assembled the book since the same was physically in several sections. They arranged the pages, put them in order with the help of glue and transparent tape. Thanks Pratima and Sudhir, the efforts were worthwhile. The author is a journalist and he did a fair amount of research to present the events that took place in chronological order starting from the actual hijacking of the El Al flight 129 till the daring rescue of the hostages. I enjoyed the meticulous and secretive planning of the rescue mission, dry run of the rescue and the actual rescue by brave Israeli commandos. The book also has a chapter on UN debate in which Uganda accuses Israel of interfering with their internal affairs and Israel’s beautifully drafted response. The debate between nations is also interesting. In the end of the book there is a transcript of telephone conversation between Israeli general and Idi Amen who liked to be addressed as His excellency Field marshal Dr. Ida Amin Dada, Ad VVIP, MAD ETC, ETC President of Uganda for life. I give this book three stars.
