No. of Pages=397 <strong> <font color=blue> Unfortunately,I never enjoyed reading history books. I am very poor in remembering the mames, dates etc. When a friend recommended this book and gave it to me as a gift, I reluctantly started to read it. and have just put it down late last night. This is the way the books based on history should be written for people like me. The auther has written it as a love story. I now know. Salim was Akbar's son who later came to be known as Emperor Jahangir. This book is a love story of Meherunisha anf Salim. Meherunisha came to be known as Noor Jahan. I now also now know The descendency of moghul empire started from Babur to Humayun to Akbar to Jahangir to Shah Jahan. Shah jahan married Mumtaz Mahal. Along with this the rest is history. Akbar's era was 1600 AD. The book is titled The 20th wife perhaps because Noorjahan was Jahangir's 20th wife. There is a sequal to this book called The veil of Roses. It may take another 30 days for me to review the sequal which I have started to read. Very interesting reading. After I am finished reading The "veil of roses" it is quite possible, I may raise the rating from ***1/2 stars to ****.
