Description:
Jodi Has weitten another fine novel. In her honestand straightforward writing style. She has created a novel set in a small town in New Hampshire. This peaceful and sleepy town is transformed into a turmoil within 19 minutes one summer afternoon. There is a shooting in school by a student which has left 10 people dead and 9 people wounded. In the aftermath of this shocking act of violance, the residents seek justice to start the healing process. A judge, her teenage daughter, a midwide, her teenage son and a detective are at the centerstage. The novel deals with psychology of the shooter and the past of the teenage shooter who was bullied by his peers right from the kindergarten because he was small and different from others. There is excellent psychoanalysis in the novel and the auther keeps the interest going. I enjoyed this novel. There is excellent courtroom drama as well which has become synonimous with the author Jodi Picoult.
