Description:
No. of Pages=530
It is Baldacci's first international thriller. It is built around a concept known as "Perception Management". The idea is that in today's inetrconnected world with Internet, websites, blogs, Blackberries etc., you can create any misconception in any part of the world. In this book, a rich finacier and owner of a big defence company in USA creates the misconception that Russia is on a killing spree and a massacre is created in a Think Tank in London. This agency is funded by Chinese (another misconception). So, this company starts getting billions of defence contracts from both China and Russia. The world in the brink of the Third World War. Of course the hero, aided by a small group of associates saves the day.

The plot is a bit hard to believe and the writing with short chapters do not produce the perception of a page turner novel like Grisham's or Clancy's. But still as a fan of Baldacci, I had to read this latest book by him. I am giving it only three stars (***).
