"Nirguno-Niskriyo-Nityo
Nirvikalpo Niranjanah
Nirvikaro Nirakaro
Nitya-mukto-asmi Nirmalah"

Adi Sankaracharya explains that SELF is:

Nirguna

without gunas( i.e attributes , properties whatsoever organic, inorganic, Physical, chemical)

Niskriya

without actions

Nitya

eternal

Nirvikalpo

without any desire and thoughts

Niranjanah

Free of dirt

Nirvikar

without any change

Nirakar

without any form

Nityomukto

Liberated

Asmi

I AM

Nirmalah

ever pure

Every substance has got physical and chemical properties and ,therefore ,every matter is finite SELF has no properties hence is not a substance and consequentially is eternal. It is without desire and thoughts, free of dirt (meaning free of all vasanas ), beyond TIME (mukat of nitya) and therefore always pure and liberated.

Our Body is composed of five elements, akash, vayu, jal, agni and bhoo. The panchikaran of these elements give birth to GROSS BODY (sthool sharer).

This gross body is accomplished by sense organs (dhirishti, sharvan, vani i.e speech, sparsh, ras- swadh) and mind and intellect and pranas

pran life force controlling and regulating the various activities in our sense organs
apaan Excretory system
saman digestive system converting food as suitable absorption by the body
vyana distributing digestive food with equity and justice according to need of the moment to each part of body
udan capacity to rise up and peep into fresh field of knowledge

The set of sense organs, five pranas, mind and intellect is called subtle BODY i.e. “Sukshma sharer.”

Gross Body perceives things because of the subtle body and we derive the quota of pleasure and success in our individual life. All the data collected by sense organs is passed to mind, the data is analyzed with reference to data already stored (on basis of past experiences) and intellect gives us the experience of pleasure or sorrow.

But what is the causal of gross body and subtle body? There must be a spectrum for these and that is jeevatma. The jeevatma understands that it is all because of it and starts thinking to be synopsis of the gross body and subtle body and we start saying that I have done this and that and thus atma associates itself with this WORLD and becomes I the ego .

The atma covers itself with five sheaths:

1. Anatomical. .gross physical structure (aanmaykosh)

2 The Vital air sheath(pranmay kosh)

3 The mental sheath (manomaykosh)

4 The intellectual sheath (vigyanmaya kosh)

5 Bliss sheath (anandmay kosh)

As a clear glass timbler seems to take up the color of table cloth on which it happens to stand; similarly we mistakenly identify the above five sheaths as our TRUE NATURE. Whereas the atma is only witness of all the functions and is different from Gross body or subtle body. The attachments, pleasure, pain etc are perceived to exist only as long as mind (budhi) functions. They are not perceived in deep sleep when the mind ceases to function; that means; all these attachments belong to mind-intellect only and not to atma.

Light is nature of SUN. Coolness is nature of WATER, heat is nature of fire and the NATURE of atma is SAT-ACHIT consciousness-ever pure-purity, reality and BLISS. - SAT-CHIT-ANANDA.

The spectrum of all these is “Braham “and the “ atma” is not different from the”Braham.”

Thus every one of us is because of Gross Body, Subtle Body and jeeva- atma and we exist only till jeev- atma is in us.

There is only ONE spectrum on which hangs all this world of MATTER i.e Braham and Atma are nothing but a ansh of “ braham “. and I discover myself to be THAT just as a wave in the ocean has separate identity but the moment it diminishes it looses its identity and becomes part of ocean. The Braham is omnipresent like Akash (space) which allows every thing to exists in itself and it exists in every thing .

When a gyani obtains this knowledge then he starts seeing braham in everyone and he sees self in you and you in self . No attachments, no vikars, no vasanas only bliss and bliss the true nature of atma.

Agyani identifies "he is the BODY" but the man of discrimination thinks "He is not the body only and he must find out something more” and yogi who has obtained the wisdom knows that “aham brahamasmi”self seeing in everone and everyone seeing in himself.

This gyani , despite associated with all the upadhis (conditionings, expression of my personality in my identification with my body, mind ,intellect) , lives as alipt. He is sravavit (one who knows every thing) but lives like a fool. He remains untainted and unattached.
