While some of the members are active members who meet frequently in Gurgaon/Delhi area, but it seems that the stars were in the right place for many others to join especially on that day. It may have been PD Agarwal’s first meeting with the Topogroup. Harsh and Indira were leaving for USA next day. Viren and Neerja had just arrived back from USA and so did Girish and Santosh (members of the Lucknow chapter). Pant Ji and Abha who live in Bhimtal, had gone to the south on a trip and arranged to be in Delhi on that day before leaving for Bhimtal. Last but not least, Vijay only! Showed up after a long absence.
Among the active members of the Gurgaon/Delhi group, Arun and Rupam Bahl, Sunil and Deepika Saxena and Ramesh and Usha Bhushan could not make it due to some prior commitments. We missed them and they missed a great party!
It was a fine day. The venue was Essex Farms near Delhi IIT. It is very nice place with beautiful garden and private dining rooms for small groups. We had 17 people in our group. We first had a small gathering in the bar area with beer and soft drinks. It allowed all to mingle and renew our friendships.

For lunch we moved to an outer room where a table had been setup for us all. The food was excellent.

Did you know that Sudhir Tyagi is an accomplished poet? I did not know this vital fact until that day. He read a nice romantic poem that he wrote himself for Harsh and Indira. Then he showed us his 2003 published book of poetry "Timira". He told us that he wrote these poems in Roorkee! We all received autographed copies of his book. For those who were not present, a picture of the front cover is shown here. |
As a group we thank Viren and OP to arrange for this get together on a nice day and Mull for excellent logistics during the get together itself. We know that a lot of work has to be done in the background to make even a small event sucessful. We thank everyone for their part.
As individuals, Indira and your Webmaster thank the whole group for a very nice day and the beautiful flowers. It was a very nice send off for us which we will always remember.
